Taikoban is the highest grade awarded to selected Nansui pears by JA Minami-Shinshu. Each fruit is measured by optical sensor for sugar level and ripeness, and only pears with good appearance and at least 14° Brix qualify for the grade.

Nansui itself is a Nagano-born Japanese pear, developed from Echigo × Shinsui. It is known for exceptionally pronounced sweetness, relatively low acidity and abundant juice, creating a rich yet clean flavour with the crisp bite characteristic of Japanese pears.

This TFD selection comes in 5L size, approximately 500g each, with two Taikoban-grade pears selected for both flavour and presentation.

Serve & Store

Storage: Keep refrigerated inside a bag to minimise moisture loss. Avoid room-temperature storage in Singapore’s warm climate.
Serving: Enjoy cool rather than ice-cold. Let the pear sit briefly after removing it from the refrigerator to better appreciate its natural sweetness.
