Each fruit is individually bagged while still hanging on the tree, with an alcohol treatment that removes its natural astringency before harvest. The fruit continues to mature on the branch, developing pronounced sweetness and distinctive dark, brown-sugar-coloured speckles throughout its flesh. This meticulous process makes Kuroama a rare regional speciality.

Golden Persimmon “Taishu” from Fukuoka offers an entirely different sensation. Grown in Japan’s leading sweet-persimmon region, Taishu is celebrated for its unusually light, crisp bite and abundant juice. Its golden-yellow skin may retain a hint of green even when the fruit is wonderfully sweet. Natural fine markings may also appear on the surface, a characteristic often associated with well-developed sweetness.

Hira Seedless Persimmon from Nara completes the collection with its tender, succulent flesh and mellow sweetness. In Nara’s renowned persimmon-growing tradition, careful pruning, hand-thinning and thoughtful harvest timing help fruit develop its colour and maturity.
