The Fuyu persimmon is the most widely produced persimmon variety in Japan, known as the "King of Sweet Persimmons" for its superior texture and high sugar content compared to other varieties.
Fuyu Persimmon Taste
The Fuyu persimmon boasts a high sugar content of 16–17 degrees Brix and juicy, astringency-free flesh. Initially crisp, it becomes soft and melt-in-the-mouth when fully ripe. Its mellow sweetness, along with rich vitamin C and fiber, make it uniquely appealing and nutritionally valuable—setting it apart from other persimmons.
