Description

Fujiminori was created by a dedicated grape grower in Fujisawa after seven years of breeding and selection. Today, this distinguished Japanese variety is cultivated in Nagano, where dry inland conditions and pronounced differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures support the development of richly flavored fruit.

Every bunch is shaped through a succession of precise, hands-on decisions. Growers trim the flower clusters before the berries develop, then remove individual grapes by hand to create the space each remaining berry needs to grow. The bunches are carefully covered as they mature, protecting their delicate surface while growers closely manage sunlight, airflow, and soil moisture.

Harvest begins only when each bunch has reached the appropriate maturity. In Nagano, grapes are cut one bunch at a time during the cool morning hours and handled as little as possible to preserve their natural bloom and pristine appearance.

The result is more than an exceptionally generous grape. It is the expression of a Japanese cultivar born from one grower’s persistence and completed through an entire season of meticulous orchard craftsmanship.
