Description
Beni Hoppe is a strawberry cultivar bred in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It was developed from a cross of Akihime and Sachinoka, with breeding work starting in 1994 and cultivar registration in 2002.
Why it’s named “Beni Hoppe”
The name refers to its vivid crimson skin, red-tinted flesh toward the center, and the Japanese expression for something so tasty it could “make your cheeks drop.”
