Description
Layers of Japanese Umami, in a Single Sprinkle.
Umami no Katamari – All-Purpose Dashi Powder
Bring depth and balance to everyday cooking with a simple sprinkle. Umami no Katamari, meaning “a concentration of umami”, is an all-purpose Japanese powdered dashi seasoning made with six carefully selected dashi ingredients.
Use it while cooking to build flavour from within, or keep the bottle on the table for a final touch of savoury richness.
✨ What Makes This Dashi Powder Special?
01 — Six Sources of Japanese Umami
This seasoning brings together kombu, dried sardine, bonito, flying fish, shiitake mushroom and oyster.
Each ingredient offers a different quality of umami—from the clean depth of kombu and smoky richness of bonito to the earthy character of shiitake and savoury notes of oyster. Their flavours are carefully balanced so that no single ingredient overwhelms the dish.
02 — Specially Processed into a Fine Powder
Selected Japanese dashi ingredients are processed using a special method and finely powdered, concentrating their natural flavours into an easy-to-use seasoning.
Unlike preparing traditional dashi stock, there is no soaking, simmering or straining required. Simply sprinkle it into your dish whenever you want to add another layer of flavour.
03 — No Added Chemical Seasonings
The savoury character comes from the carefully combined dashi ingredients, without added chemical seasonings.
It enhances the natural flavour of meat, seafood, vegetables and grains, adding depth while allowing the main ingredients to remain at the centre of the dish.
