Description
Nishimura Wase, grown in Fukuoka, is a traditional semi-sweet persimmon known for its firm and crisp texture with a refreshing sweetness. A distinctive feature is the black speckles, called “goma,” that appear in the flesh. These marks are natural deposits of condensed tannins, which indicate that the astringency has been removed and the fruit has developed its full sweetness. With its unique balance of mild flavor and satisfying crunch, Nishimura Wase is enjoyed as one of Japan’s early-season persimmons.
Serving Recommendation
- Store in a cool, dark place. Enjoy as soon as possible.
- If you prefer firmer persimmons, refrigeration is recommended.
