Peach Oolong Tea Cocktail

Infusion is the process of steeping plant-based ingredients such as tea leaves, dried fruit, and spices in spirits to transfer their aromas, flavours, and colours into the liquid.

ZEN TEA BREW uses carefully balanced ingredients based around tea leaves from Shizuoka to create a distinctive craft cocktail experience at home.

One kit produces approximately 400ml of infused liquid.

When served as a highball with soda, this makes approximately 13–14 drinks, based on around 30ml of infused spirits per serving.

If you serve a larger amount over ice or drink it straight, one kit will make approximately 8–10 drinks.

It can be enjoyed after as little as 1 hour. The flavour continues to develop for up to approximately 3 days, or 72 hours.

After a week or more, some ingredients may begin to produce an overly strong flavour.

Remove or strain out the tea leaves, fruit, and other ingredients to stop the infusion from developing further. The flavours already transferred to the liquid will remain.

1. Prepare the infusion
   Place the contents of one kit and 400ml of spirits, such as vodka, gin, or whisky, into a suitable container. Refrigerate while infusing.
2. Strain when ready
   Taste after 1 hour. Once it reaches your preferred flavour, strain the liquid and keep it refrigerated.
3. Mix your drink
   Use the infused liquid to make a simple cocktail. No specialist equipment or complicated recipe is required.
4. Enjoy
   Serve over ice, add soda or tonic, or create your own arrangement.

Yes. Spirits are not included and must be supplied separately. The kit contains only the tea leaves, dried fruit, spices, and other ingredients used for infusion.

Spirits with an alcohol content of around 40% ABV or higher are recommended because they extract the ingredients’ flavours and aromas efficiently.

Lower-alcohol options may also be used, but a longer infusion time may be required.

For the Peach & Roasted Oolong Tea Cocktail Kit, we recommend:

• Vodka
• Gin
• Whisky

Vodka allows the peach and roasted oolong aromas to remain clear, while gin adds a botanical character and whisky creates a deeper, warmer finish.

These are suggestions rather than strict rules, so you can also experiment with other spirits according to your taste.

Other alcoholic drinks can also be used. If you choose a lower-alcohol option, allow additional time for the infusion to develop.

Yes. It can also be prepared as an alcohol-free tea or mocktail. Add 400ml of water instead of spirits and allow it to infuse.

After infusion, dilute it 1:1 with water, unsweetened tea, or unsweetened sparkling water.

For the shelf life of an unopened kit, please check the date printed on the product packaging.

Once opened and infused with spirits, keep the liquid refrigerated and consume it within approximately one month.

A second infusion is possible, but it will have less flavour than the first and will not produce exactly the same result.

For the fullest flavour, we recommend using each kit for one infusion.

ZEN TEA BREW kits are made primarily with Japanese tea leaves, together with dried fruit, spices, and konpeito sugar candy.

This kit contains roasted oolong tea, peach, ginger, clove, and konpeito sugar candy. It also contains caffeine and sulfites.
