Queen Rouge, a seedless red grape with a muscat aroma and a high sugar content of 18-20 degrees, debuted in 2021. Exclusively grown in Nagano Prefecture, this rare variety is now available in a specially prepared assorted gift box.
Gift Box Contents:
(1) Queen Rouge 1bunch
Queen Rouge grapes are a vibrant red variety with a crisp texture and inherited traits from Shine Muscat. Their defining feature is their sweetness, boasting a high sugar content of over 20 degrees and minimal acidity, which accentuates their flavor. You’ll also notice a subtle, refreshing muscat aroma, attributed to a compound called linalool, used in many floral fragrances and perfumes. When you receive them, be sure to enjoy their delightful scent as well.
Nagano Prefecture, the origin of Queen Rouge grapes, is a landlocked region surrounded by the fertile basins of the Japanese Alps. The absence of nearby seas makes the skies less cloudy, allowing ample sunlight to nourish the crops. The pure waters flowing from these mountains provide delicious, mineral-rich hydration essential for cultivating nutritious vegetables. Additionally, the soil’s rich mineral content fosters the growth of high-quality produce.
For the beautiful Queen Rouge grapes, farmers meticulously control the number of clusters per vine and the number of berries per cluster to shape the grapes while managing their sweetness. The thin skin of Queen Rouge is delicate, prone to splitting if overly moist, so farmers use waterproof sheets to regulate soil moisture during rainy periods. This careful attention ensures the cultivation of these exquisite grapes in Nagano.
