While white konnayku is common in northern east part of Japan, black konnyaku is widely recognized and loved in central to western part of Japan. The black color comes from seaweed contained in konnyaku flour. That fluffy yet sticky texture becomes addicting and is one of essential foods in boiled food like Oden.
